From the get-go, Out Adventures’ founder Rob has guided gays through Earth’s most remote destinations. The Land of Fire & Ice? Check. The sweltering Sahara? Check. The colourful cultures of India? Triple check.
This year will be no exception as Rob hosts seven expeditions as part of our 10-Year Anniversary collection. See his full 2019 tour calendar below.
Rob (and Kevin) head back to the original inspiration for Out Adventures: Antarctica. The tour kicks off in Ushuaia, Argentina, where we’ll board The World Explorer. Two days are spent on the notorious Drake Passage before dropping anchor on the coast of the most uninhabitable – and desolate – continent. Flocks of penguins greet us on our sub-zero safari. Blubbery seals flop and flounder on loose bergs. Meanwhile, whales breach the surface of the dangerous waters.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime tour of the world’s southern-most parts. Book soon as it’s nearly sold out.
Rob’s departure: Dec 7 – 18, 2019
After cruising Antarctica and discovering Patagonia, Rob flys to Chile for a hybrid wine and workouts tour. Together you’ll cycle through Colchagua Valley — equally famous for its vintages as its vantages — before jetting north to Atacama Desert. The mysterious desert hides a nearly buried settlement called Tulor — only 3% is visible. It also hosts scenic salt flats, flamingo sanctuaries and some of the best stargazing in the world. We’ll conclude this overview tour in sensational Santiago.
Rob’s departure: Jan 18 – 27, 2019
Ten years ago, Out Adventures hosted its very first gay tour: a cultural escape through Thailand. It only makes sense Rob would tip his hat to the inaugural departure by slipping and sliding back for Songkran Water Festival. Every April 12-15, The Land of Smiles celebrates Songkran – the lunar new year – with the world’s largest water fight. Rob will supply the guns and together we’ll soak the streets and each other. Other highlights of the tour include Bangkok, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phuket as well as a special afternoon at a highly respected elephant sanctuary.
Rob’s departure: April 6-15, 2019
The wildebeest migration is listed as one of Earth’s 7 Natural Wonders. See it with your own eyes on this luxurious Kenyan safari. You’ll also enjoy 3 of the country’s best national parks, photograph the big five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and water buffalo), see Africa’s largest population of flamingos and slumber in the finest accommodations.
Rob’s departure: Aug 17-25, 2019
Beginning in Budapest, indulge in the city’s rich history, impressive architecture and famous Turkish baths. Not to mention, an exclusive backstage performance at the recently re-opened Budapest Opera House. Then it’s off to the Alpine Sweetheart, Slovenia, where we’ll glamp in the country’s verdant countryside. Lake Bled, Vogel Mountain and Goriška Brda will be highlights. We end the luxurious tour in Ljubljana, enjoying one of our favourite boutique hotels and devouring the city’s top restaurants.
Pair this tour with our Croatia: Southern Dalmatia Gay Cruise.
Rob’s departure: Jul 12 – 19, 2019
Directly after Ljubljana, Rob (and Carl) are off to Croatia where the duo will board a private yacht with up to 37 guys. Over 7 nights we’ll cruise Croatia’s stunning Dalmatian coast, stopping for daily dips in the balmy Adriatic, docking at historic ports and enjoying the ship’s amenities such as a 10-person hot tub. Optional dinners at the country’s finest restaurants are an added bonus.
This cruise is already filling up! Call us ASAP to book your cabin.
Rob’s departure: Jul 19 – 27, 2019
