8. Calgary

Calgary is the rodeo capital of Canada and is affectionally known amongst us Canucks as “Cow Town”. It’s located on the western edge of the prairies and holds a special place in our hearts for its annual ‘Calgary Stampede’. It’s also the kickoff point for this incredible adventure. So toss on a cowboy hat and some plaid as we hit the town for welcome drinks. Yeehaw!

7. Taste the Okanagan

Uncork Canada’s wine culture in The Okanagan region of British Columbia. We’ll swish, swirl and spit some of Canada’s best vintages during guided tastings, all while learning how Canada’s grapes have been turning heads and inspiring taste buds. After a pinot noir or four, we’ll explore Kelowna — The Okanagan’s quaint central city.

6. Party at Vancouver Pride

As this tour concludes, Vancouver Pride kicks-off. We’ve been telling all prospective travellers to book a few extra days at our centrally located hotel in order to enjoy one of The Great White North’s premier Pride Festivals.

5. Explore the Rockies

The Canadian Rockies are Canada at her natural best. Rushing rivers cut through the parks, often barreling over the sides of mountains and forming wondrous waterfalls. Hillside lookouts offer glimpses of seemingly endless Boreal countryside. Even the air seems alive with the chirps and tweets of Canadian birds. The majority of our tour will take place throughout this region.

4. Hike Glacial Lakes

Speaking of the Rockies, nothing is more scenic than traversing one of its glacier-fed lakes. Shimmering Lake Louise is a two-hour drive north of Banff National Park. We’ll enjoy a guided hike of this lake and the surrounding Boreal forest, concluding at an unforgettable vantage point. Other glacier-lakes we’ll visit include magnificent Lake Minnewanka and the shockingly turquoise Lake Morraine.

3. Bask in Banff

Banff remains Canada’s premier resort village and is the first township to incorporate within the confines of a Canadian National Park. No matter the season, the small town is alive with activity as visitors paddle the rivers in spring, hike the trails in summer and ski the slopes in winter.

2. Try a Canadian Safari

The word safari often conjures vivid images of African savannahs, fearsome lions and expanses of zebra. But on this uniquely Canadian experience, guests will riverboat through a Grizzly Bear reserve glimpsing the cute-but-not-so-cuddly beasts themselves. Other sightings could include moose, ram, deer, beaver, otter and so much more!

1. Understand Canadian Culture

Canadiana is a gleeful blend of sugar, spice and everything ni… er, gay. We boast one of the world’s most culturally, religiously and sexually diverse populations. We’re well known for our welcoming, “How’s it going, eh?” attitude. And our Prime Minister is a certified 40-something DILF, with far left ideals and a penchant for leading our annual Pride Parades (see earlier picture). What’s not to love!? …okay, we admit it gets kinda cold here, but this trip is in the dog days of summer, so fret not!
