It’s our mandate to incorporate a local LGBT component — when possible — in our group departures. Some activities may be campy: appreciating a Thai cabaret. Others political: a roundtable discussion with Cuban activists.

Scroll down for 8 gay experiences you can only have with Out Adventures.

Shake Hands with Cuban Activists

Arriving at an LGBT community theatre in Havana, we’ll be greeted by the centre’s Director and a few gay and lesbian activists. In a casual round-table discussion, you’ll have the opportunity to hear their stories and learn what initiatives they’re taking to strengthen LGBT rights on the island nation. This intimate experience is available on both our Cultural Cuba and Cuba: New Year Fiesta tours.

Experience Lisbon Queer Film Festival

Launched in 1997, Queer Lisboa was Portugal’s first film festival. It’s also one of the world’s largest LGBT film festivals, known for quality programming, activities and guests. On our Portugal: Lisbon and Porto Gourmet Foray, we’ll spend an evening with the stars, taking in a film with post-show cocktails and dinner.

Appreciate the YSL Museum in Morocco

French fashion behemoth and gay icon Yves Saint Laurent, lived much of his life in Marrakesh, Morocco. The North African country decided to pay homage to the designer with an entire museum dedicated to his legacy. We’ll spend an afternoon touring the haute space and getting an up-close look at his incomparable work on our Moroccan Souks & Sand tour.

Meet the Queens of Thailand

The Land of Smiles is well known for it’s plethora of drag performers. In Bangkok, our guests will spend at least one evening in the Silom district where bedazzled beauties glide around on stage delivering epic lip syncs and hilarious performances. Gird your loins!

Join Miss Conception on a Gay River Cruise

Between hunting Dong — Vietnamese currency — hosting two shows, a trivia night and something called ‘Mess in a Dress’, Miss Conception will be cohosting our gay Mekong River cruise. She’ll be leading exclusive tours of the regions stilted villages, ancient wats and manic metropolitans. She may not be the reason you booked, but she’ll be the reason you arrive home raving.

Discover the Bawa Brothers in Sri Lanka

Introducing Sri Lanka’s Bawa brothers, two of former Ceylon’s biggest intellectual exports and queer icons. Each is famous in his own right: Geoffrey (1919-2003) as the Father of Tropical Modernism and Bevis as a landscape architect. During our Sri Lanka Serendipity tour, we’ll slumber in two of Geoffrey’s iconic resorts while also taking in Bevis’ famously erotic estate gardens — it’s rumoured he hosted countless orgies on the explicit property.

Celebrate Vancouver Pride

Just as our Canadian Rockies experience ends, Vancouver Pride kicks off. Technically, the annual blowout isn’t part of our tour package, but we’re recommending guests book an extra few nights accommodation to enjoy the shenanigans.
