“You don’t come to Scotland for the weather.” chattered the plump woman next to me as we touched down in Glasgow Airport.
After a week hiking the highlands in dreich — translation: dreary — weather, I can confirm, ‘No. You certainly do not.’ But you do come for the incomparable vantages, the lush surrounds and the country’s ancient beauty.
Below you’ll find a handful of photos I captured while hosting Out Adventures’ annual Scottish Highland Hikes gay tour. The sun may only make a brief cameo, but the fantastical allure of the coastal country is front and centre.
