Turkey is a must-see nation for those of us afflicted by wanderlust, with Istanbul bridging Asia and Europe. However, it’s not without risk, so we wanted to review some steps to make your holiday as safe and spectacular as possible.

Firstly, per national advisories, you should exercise a high degree of caution when visiting at this time. If that sounds jarring, know you’ll find similar advisories for Thailand, South Africa, and Mexico for example… it speaks primarily to personal vigilance. Steer clear of large crowds and major gathering places (especially on evenings and weekends) and avoid public transportation if you want to be extra cautious. We don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk, following our own advice while on our Gay Turkey Tour.

Secondly, we have a huge network of people on the ground that are in constant communication. This ensures we are up to speed on safety and security issues, and contingency plans will be made if necessary (including itinerary changes).

Finally, we wanted to point out the primary area of concern for Turkey is its Southeastern border, understandable given that it flanks Syria. However, our tour is focused exclusively on North-west Turkey, so we’ll be nowhere near the “conflict zone”. This said, safety of our clients is our top priority, and while in Istanbul, we’ll be making small tweaks to our plan in order to keep our group safe, and our clients comfortable with their decision to travel to Turkey.

We are no longer offering our Gay Turkey Tour. But if you’re ready for a spectacular gay adventure, take a look at our website for our current tours.
